Experiences Son of Lin Chao-xuan (Shao-tang) and great grandson of Lin Ding-ban in Linˇ¦s Family. He was smart and interested in learning when young, read a lot of books and studied scriptures and history under Lin Ke-hong and Wang Jun-you and later under Liang Dun-an to improve his skills in poems. As a result, in the Japanese occupation, Mr. Lin You-chun, Mr. Hu Nan-ming and Lian Ya-tang were the three major figures in the poetry circle. Mr. Lin You-chunˇ¦s poems were complete in each field with strong basis of old poems, having the legacy of Li Bai and, as a result, he was called Leader of the Poetry then. He had a Nan Qiang Poem Collection of around 400 poems.

In addition to the promotion of Li Club with his uncle Chi-xian, he founded ˇ§Taiwan Literary Clubˇ¨ and published ˇ§Taiwan Poem Collection,ˇ¨ dedicating in the revival of culture and education. Afterwards, he originated with his friends ˇ§Establishment of Taiwan Councilˇ¨ movement. In 1923, he, along with Mr. Tsai Pei-huo, was arrested because of the opposition to Japanese government. He composed ˇ§Ten Rules in the Prison,ˇ¨ which can be compared to Zheng Qi Ode by Wen Tian-xiang.
