First child of Lin Xian-tang
and grandson of Lin Wen-qin, he was born n 101 and studied abroad
when he was a child. He was brought by his father to study at
the elementary school in Japan in 1910 and later to Tokyo Imperial
University and Oxford University in London, Sorborne University
in Paris and Munich University in Germany. Such willpower and
confidence to study is really amazing. He dedicated to education
all his life.
After retuning to Taiwan from his study in U.K., the autonomy
league in Taiwan to the reforms in autonomy was in heat. On
the other hand, the movements by Taiwan Cultural Association
made the youths believe it is their job to change the atmospheres
in the society.
On February 24th, 1932, ˇ§Wufeng Yi Xin Associationˇ¨ was established
in the hope to foster the literature, promote the development
of the cultures in rural villages, and spread the spirit of
autonomy to bring a new Taiwan. At the beginning, the location
was at Yi Xin School at old Lin Hai-tang Hall and was lectured
by the sinology pioneer Mr. Zhuang Tai-yue for free. The school
was popular among the middle family with many students there.
Study on sinology was banned by Japanese government on February
4th, 1933. The activities were then focused on the reforms of
social customs. The Japanese government was in the war system;
the School did not have significant activities and it was changed
Yi Xin Huei Library at the same place. |
