| Brief introduction |
Lin Shi, ancestor of the pioneer
of the democratic movement in Taiwan, Lin Xian-tang, came to
Taiwan and brought over the ˇ§Wu Gu Sheng Nong Emperorˇ¨ tablet,
statute of Prince Marshal (now worshipped at Caohu Zhuang) and
Heavenly God (Di Ye Gong) statute (now worshipped in Jingrong
Village in Wufeng Town) to Taiwan. He first lived in Changhua
and then in Dali City. Lin Jia-yin, the second child of Lin
Xun, the first child of Lin Shi moved to A Zhoa Wu (Wufeng)
and build the little Sheng Nong Temple and Earth God Temple
(the crab cave in the geographical feng xui) in 1862 on Si De
Road, Zhong Zheng Village, Wufeng Town.
In the same year, leaders of the rebellions Dai Chao-chun (Wan-sheng)
and Lin Ri-cheng intended to attach A Zhao Wu. Lin Wen-zha (Mi-qing),
ancestor of Lin Xian-tang, was an official then and brought
troops back to China. Leaving weak power there. After the instruction
of Sheng Nong God to fight back the rebellions, they poisoned
at the beginning of Wu Stream. Sheng Nong God requested Earth
God to deliver clean water to be oozed from the old camphor
trees (called Earth God Well) to save the habitants. After Lin
Wen-zha returned o Taiwan and pacified the rebellions in 1862,
he learnt the events of the protection from Sheng Nong God,
he worshipped at the Temple and have the Temple renovated with
contribution of the land for the Temple. Wang Jun-shao was recommended
as the manager and succeeded by his son, Wang Lie-si. The Temple
was renovated in 1883. |
