| History |
Wufeng Town used to be called
A Zhao Wu, which refers to the current areas of Zhogzheng,
Jinrong, Laiyuan and Benxiang in a narrower sense. It locates
among the foot of Fong Mountain in Pitou Mountain on the east
of Taichung Basin, Caohu Stream and Wu Stream. The east in
the Town is the hills of Dahengpin Mountain foot while the
west is the flats at the height between 50-60 meters. The Town
used to be occupied by Ataabu, the local aborigines. After
the entry of Han people, the Town was called A Zhao Wu due
to the heavy fog in the Town. The origin o the name seems
to be related to the translation by the sound of Ataabu. |
