The bodily form is like a silver carp and is spindle-like. The head is big and round, the mouth is short and blunt with no cirrus. The eyes are big and the mouth is wide and slanting. The end of each sides could reach to the bottom of the nostrils. The pharynx is level and smooth in the surface. The gill-harrow is long and narrow but not connected. The body is covered with thin and tiny round scales with a perfect siding. The belly was slippery from the base of the pectoral fin to the base of the ventral fin. There is only a sharp edge from the base of the ventral fin to the anus. This sharp edge is the biggest distinction between it and silver carp. The ventral fin is on the belly part, and the tail is tip-shaped. The backside is grey and golden; the belly is silver. It is a large-sided fish. The length of a ripe fish could be more than one meter and the weight could be up to forty kilograms.
Habitual Behavior ĄG They are fresh-water fish like swimming in warm water area. They always lived in Epipelagic Division, the upper of the water area of rivers, dams and pools. They are moderate and are not good at leaping. They always filter out the zooplankton. They grow up rapidly in the weight of 0.5 to 1 kilogram per year.
Distribution ĄG It distributes at the water areas of Daan Stream (the trunk stream of middle reaches) and Dajia Stream (the trunk stream of lower reaches). The original source of this ecospecies came from Mainland China . |
